You won’t believe all the fantastic cures found in tea. Tea has been used for generations to solve every health issue every imagined. Some of the claims for what tea can do to super power your health are really so unbelievable!
In fact, I don’t believe all the claims, and I am not here to make any new ones. Besides loving tea, I also love research. I am a few classes away from a Master’s in Public Health with a focus on Global Maternal Child Health. I don’t agree with every aspect of my coursework, but I have really enjoyed learning how to analyze primary sources.
Of the many hours I have poured into researching and learning to research I have realized there are so many limitations to studies that have led me to have more questions than answers.
While I will not be proclaiming teas contain certain nutrients or will solve particular ailments, I also believe teas are really beneficial.
There is a reason boiling plants as herbal remedies has remained popular for centuries. Plants are a resource for us to enjoy, and they often feel nourishing. I have experience using teas for wellness, and I tend to gravitate towards different teas for different reasons. When I was pregnant, I loved drinking Red Raspberry Leaf & Nettles. When my stomach is upset, Ginger or Peppermint are so soothing. I love Elderberries when I am feeling worn out. Licorice Root does feel amazing when comforting a sore throat. And I believe teas can be powerful, as I have seen teas and plants really support healing.
How I use tea for wellness:
(not health advice)
1. Pick a tea that smells and feels soothing. Black/Green teas aren’t typically brewed for over 5 minutes, but it is due to the flavor change. Experiment and see what you think!
2. Infuse herbs for over 6 hours as a concentrate, and then warm back up or drink at room temperature.
3. Enjoy your tea as a form of self-care, and take a break to just be present.

A family favorite for moments that need a little de-escalating. We actually call it tea-escalation around here.
