Doula Services I offer in Denver and Virtually:

I love the perinatal period; everything from preconception through infancy. Yes, babies are fantastic, but what I really love is providing care that offers prevention and protection. Studies show doula care reduces risks, and attachment parenting provides longterm protective effects for babies (and helps mom’s hormones).

Preconception

The best time to learn to swim is long before you are drowning, and similarly the best time to prepare for parenting is preconception. I teach teens and young adults overview classes so that if one day they want to become a parent they know where to get started and what to prioritize. I also do consultations for those who would like to explore the challenges they are facing in becoming pregnant.

Prenatal

I meet a majority of my clients during their pregnancy. I offer group or personalized prenatal classes, conversations, resources, movement techniques, evidence-based research, and even help with your gift registry. This is the time to plan and prepare to know your choices and how to advocate for your birth.

Labor

I have worked extensively with clients during labor, both in person and virtually. This on-call support is designed to empower you to advocate for your birth. As your guide through each part of labor, I offer options and alternatives based on my experience or research. I provide reassurance for the mental marathon of labor and movements to assist your body in creating space for your baby. I support all styles of labor, as you are the expert on what you need.

Postpartum

As a postpartum doula I focus on bonding, recovery, routines, and feeding. Bonding does not look the same with every baby, but in every situation I can offer evidence-based techniques to support the bond with your baby, which promotes healing, recovery, and lifelong wellness. I am a breastfeeding counselor, and help moms and babies with latching, hand expression, pumping, feeding routines and expectations, weaning, and bottle feeding. I also use my training in postpartum mood disorders to address any concerns. Isolation discourages postpartum recovery, so I offer frequent check-ins, in-person and virtual meetings, support groups, and hands on learning.

Family

Sometimes we make it through the baby stage without the support we needed, and still have signs of distress. I offer individuals and families classes or consultations on repairing attachment and birth processing. I teach the basics of attachment theory and share resources and practices. Birth processing sessions are customized to your needs.
